How does the 75-mile rule work?
Coverage applies when death occurs more than 75 miles from your legal residence, which must be in the United States or Canada. No service is provided for deaths 75 miles or less from home. Your legal residence is the place of residence for 180 or more days in the 12 months preceding the date of death — and coverage itself is worldwide, wherever your passport takes you.
